HMT Vidonia

There are no pictures of the HM Trawler Vidonia because she is at the bottom of the English Channel. She sank following a collision with an American cargo vessel (name unknown to me) on 7th October 1944. My father survived, the second of his three experiences of wartime shipwreck. A little more about the ship and those who lost their lives that day can be found here.

I was interested on this comment about the Vidonia. My Uncle, Stoker Edward Jarvis is listed in several WW2 records as one of those who perished when this ship went down in October 1944 but he doesn't feature in your list.
    Rather strange?.

  2. The list is from a website about WW2 trawlers etc. that I didn't compile so I can't explain why your uncle's name was omitted. If you have any more information about the Vidonia or pictures I'd love to see them, I've nothing much on the ship at all. My email is john446515@btinternet.com thanks.
